Body image is something that every one of us has struggled with at some point in our lives.
That woman is thinner than me. That one has fuller curves. Should I even wear a bikini if I don’t look like a Sports Illustrated model?
For many of us, the thought of wearing a bikini or swimsuit in public makes us cringe inside. Yes, we might not have a completely flat tummy or tight butt like in our 20s. But it shouldn’t be like that. Our body changes over time.
Don’t compare your beautiful, mature body with the one you (or even worse, some model) had more than 30 years ago. You’ve been through so much and your body’s been your temple on this planet.
So, snap out of it! Age is nothing but a number and ANY woman can have a bikini body after the 50s.
Don’t try to punish yourself with strict diets and heavy exercise regimens. You don’t need to be a size 0 to look good in your swimwear.
Looking at the fashion industry nowadays, it has never been more inclusive and more diverse than it is now. There’s something for every shape and every body type out there to feel beautiful and far most – to feel CONFIDENT in!
But if you’re still not convinced, here are some tips that will help you stay swimwear ready after your 50s.
Remember that most of our insecurities come from our mindset. Think about your friends that are your age. Do all of them have perfectly toned bodies? Are they the same size as they were 20 years ago?
It might be just a guess but your answer to these questions is probably a NO. Look how different you all are!
So, next time you need or want to wear a swimsuit, don’t overthink it. Just do it! Put on your favorite lipstick, put your chin up and compliment yourself. Whichever size you’re wearing, YOU ARE LOOKING GORGEOUS!
If you still feel like you could lose a few pounds and it would make you feel a whole lot better, a simple way to do it is to increase your daily activity.
No need to wear yourself out in a gym lifting heavyweights.
Just think about your everyday routine. How often do you get outside and take a walk? What are your activity levels?
Even only a 30-minute walk once or twice a day will immensely improve your overall health and help to tone your body. It increases your cardiovascular fitness, strengthens bones, reduces body fat, and boosts your muscle power and endurance.
You will not only see the result, but you will feel it! You’ll be much happier and less stressed.
Overall, sugar comes naturally in all food. But it’s the processed sugar that does the most harm.
As harsh as it may sound, too much added sugar is considered to be one of the greatest threats to your cardiovascular health. It affects not only the heart but also has a great impact on obesity and diabetes.
When you’re craving something sweet, choose fresh fruits instead of chocolate bar or cake. If you’re the one to have a cold coke in your fridge, it is time to quit those soft drinks. They are addicting.
Your heart and your body will feel so much more energetic, and your weight will start to come off gradually.
