Get to know your body shape
Our bodies change throughout our lifetime. And it’s not only our age that affects it. Childbirth, stress, diet, activity levels, and many other factors. So, you shouldn’t get frustrated if you can’t fit into the same clothes, you wore 5, 10, or 30 years ago.
To choose the right apparel for a special occasion (or even if you’re looking for jeans for that matter), you should know your body shape:
- Fuller in the middle
- Fuller on the bottom
- Fuller on the top
- Curvy
- Not curvy
Wrap dress
Just like a little black dress, a wrap dress has become a classic. It flatters most body types, but especially fuller on the top body shape. You can hide anything you want to hide.
A-line dress
It is an excellent choice for different body types. If you’re thin and want to add up some shape, this will look fabulous.
Little black dress
Even though you’re not 30 anymore, you should always have a little black dress in your closet. It’s a staple in all wardrobes.
Choose knee-length or longer. It can be anything from an A-line dress to body fitting. Go for simple but elegant designs. It will be your lifesaver in times of emergency.
Lace Cocktail dress
Lace is feminine and can soften your appearance. There are a variety of shapes for lace dresses, but they often look more flattering on shapely figures.
Sheath Dress
This will be a good option for those of you with bigger hips and busts, and a smaller waist. The long lines will help to elongate your body, therefore, creating a slimming effect.
