For Cecilia Marquez, it happened in her kitchen, when her baby boy ran inside from the backyard and leapt into her arms. As she held him close, she felt something unfamiliar pressing against her chest. A small, hard lump.
She was 32 years old.

Cecilia faced breast cancer at a time when mammograms weren’t routine for women her age. Then melanoma. Then, years later, another breast cancer diagnosis following unimaginable personal loss.
