Food for the soul
What’s the first thing you do when you open your eyes? Most of us automatically go online to check the news, check our emails, and disappear into that blue screen.
But you know what? There’s rarely anything good in the news lately. And it’s not because all is bad. It’s just the way the media works.
So, instead of grabbing your phone in the morning, dedicate 10-15 minutes to reading something that feeds your soul. Either if it’s poetry, quotes, novel, or your favorite science fiction book.
The world won’t stop turning if you don’t check your notifications throughout those first 15 minutes of your day. Choose to prioritize yourself!
Enjoy your morning coffee or tea
We all have our habits of drinking that first cup of coffee or tea while watching the news, getting ready, or maybe on our way to work.
But you can use that time to your advantage.
Take your cup of tea or coffee, sit down, and collect your thoughts. If you have a backyard or a balcony, step outside and take a deep breath of fresh air. Look around. You can use this time to reflect and to simply be.
What are you thankful for? What makes you happy? Think of all the good things in your life. Be grateful. And choose to be happy!
Start moving
There’s no better way to wake yourself up than by moving.
There’s no need for a sweaty hard-core workout. It can be a 20-minute walk, yoga, or just stretching. Whatever feels right to you.
Exercising in the morning helps to fill your lungs and body with oxygen, therefore increasing your blood flow and keeping you alert and awake. Even a little movement will give you clarity and will help you to focus throughout the day.
Write a to-do list
The best way to have a productive day is to write down all the things that need to be done.
That way you will be able to keep track of your progress and to make sure that you don’t forget anything. Quite often stress derives from the chaos around us.
Having a clear to-do list will help you to worry less. You will prioritize and complete your tasks calmly and effectively.
