Prime Prometics x HairToStay: A partnership built on choice

Prime Prometics is partnering with HairToStay, the first and only national U.S. nonprofit dedicated to helping cancer patients afford scalp cooling treatments… an FDA-cleared option that can dramatically reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss.

Together, our goal is simple: help more patients preserve their hair, and with it, a sense of self, especially during a time that can feel wildly out of control.

To translate this goal into action, Prime Prometics will:

1. Fund scalp cooling treatments for 4 patients over age 50 each month

   
   

2. Support awareness efforts and education around scalp cooling

These goals and this partnership matter deeply to us. Prime Prometics began as a makeup line created for chemotherapy patients, and it has grown into a global pro-age beauty brand, but our “why” has never changed.

For many women, preserving hair through scalp cooling can make a meaningful difference in emotional well-being during treatment.

Scalp cooling has been used in Europe and other countries for decades, but in the United States, it’s still relatively new, and is only just beginning to be covered by public and private insurance.

Manual cold caps have existed in limited use for years, and on December 8, 2015, a scalp cooling device received FDA clearance in the U.S.

So what is it, exactly?

Scalp cooling is designed to help reduce chemotherapy-related hair loss. It works by supporting two key processes during treatment:

1. Reducing blood flow to hair follicle cells, which may lower exposure to chemotherapy medications

   
   

2. Slowing cellular metabolism, which may reduce the impact of whatever chemo medication is present

In plain language: it’s a way to protect hair follicles during treatment, and for many patients, it can mean keeping more hair than they expected.

HairToStay has helped more than 8,000 patients across all 50 states and provided over $5 million in subsidies since 2016.

The majority of recipients are women affected by breast cancer, and 94% of applicants say protecting their sense of well-being during treatment matters deeply… because normalcy isn’t small.

It changes how you show up to dinner, school drop-off, work calls… and all the everyday moments that keep you feeling like you.

And yes, the numbers are powerful.
